CNBC Appoints Azhar Sukri as International Weekend Editor 

LONDON, JANUARY 12, 2026 – CNBC, First in Business Worldwide, today announced that Azhar Sukri will join the international newsroom as a Weekend Editor. 

Based in London, Sukri will oversee CNBC International’s digital output on the weekends, leading on editorial priorities across business, markets, finance, tech, and geopolitics, and delivering breaking news coverage tailored for CNBC’s global audiences.

Sukri brings more than two decades of international journalism experience, spanning senior leadership, editorial, and on-air roles across Reuters, The Associated Press, Al Jazeera, Bloomberg, TRT World, and supported The Wall Street Journal and Boston Consulting Group in freelance digital and editorial capacities. He graduated from The University of Wales, Cardiff with a Bachelor of Science in Chemistry.
